Reaching 100 appearances for club is one thing, but achieving that for country is a whole other level of impressive, and Maya Yoshida is the latest player to reach the exclusive group at international level.

The Japanese centre-back made his 100th cap for the Samurai’s this week in their 2-0 win over Kyrgyzstan in their World Cup 2022 qualifier, taking Yoshida up to the eight in the all-time record list of appearance makers for the Asian country.
