Lots of Southampton fans have been slating midfielder Nathan Redmond’s performance during his side’s 3-1 victory against Watford on Sunday.
The Saints managed to move further away from the relegation places following their convincing victory at Vicarage Road, which left the Hornets in further trouble.
A brace from Danny Ings and a superb free-kick from James Ward-Prowse sealed the three points. However, not all players received glowing praise.
Could Nathan Redmond have done more vs Watford?
Yes
No
Nathan Redmond wasn’t in the St Mary’s faithful’s good books, even though he was on the winning side. Despite this, the statistics he generated suggest otherwise, having managed to win five duels, completed three tackles and had a pass success rate of 77%, as per Sofascore.
With this in mind, supporters were not impressed and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he wasn’t at the races, while others suggested that he was “barely involved” and a “waste of space”.
Very good performance. Dominated without creating a whole lot, Redmond not at the races and missed Armstrong a bit in terms of making chances, but Ings brought magic off scraps and we fully deserved it. #saintsfc

Redmond has been a waste of space today. #SaintsFC

Redmond’s been sloppy today, not really been at the races. #SaintsFC

Hate to say it but it seems like we are getting *one of those* games from Redmond. Barely been involved so far and when he is getting touches, he’s wasting them.#SaintsFC

Good half. Vestergaard and KWP solid. Need to get Redmond in the game more #SaintsFC
