Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that the return of Ryan Bertrand from suspension as well as no new injury concerns means the Austrian manager has a fully-fit squad to pick for today’ fixture against Arsenal.

The Southampton manager confirmed to the club’s official website that no first-team players picked up any knocks over the international break and that Bertrand is available again for selection after serving his three-game suspension following his straight red card against Leicester City.

Hasenhuttl said: “Everyone is back fit and with a few successful experiences for the players with their national teams,” with the Austrian boss later adding: “It’s also good that Ryan Bertrand is back after suspension from the Leicester game. I have the whole squad now available and I can pick the eleven that fits perfect to the shape which we play and the opponent we play against.”

Will Southampton claim Premier League survival?

Yes

No

And a fully-fit squad is exactly what Hasenhuttl will be needing today when the Saints take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

With Unai Emery confirming that left-back Sead Kolasinac will be assessed before the game and ruling out Dani Ceballos out for this afternoon’s fixture due to a hamstring injury as reported by Arsenal’s official website, the Saints will be feeling slightly more confident now heading to north London with a full squad at their disposal.

With the Saints yet to win a Premier League since beating Sheffield United in September, there is a slight possibility that Southampton can snap this terrible run against Arsenal with the Gunners missing one of their key midfielders on top of their topsy-turvy form this season.

Three points for Southampton will be crucial for the Saints today if they are to mount their charge out of the Premier League relegation zone, and having Bertrand his entire supporting cast fully-fit will do Hasenhuttl a world of good this afternoon.
