Southampton To Rival Spurs For Dutch International Talent

|

With Southampton’s summer transfer business stepping up a gear this week and manager Ralph Hasenhuttl tweaks his first-team squad for the coming 2019/20 Premier League campaign, we have now been linked with having a potential interest in Club Brugge winger Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld.

The original speculation seems to come from outlet Voetbal International who this week namechecked us alongside the likes of AC Milan, Stade Rennes and Tottenham Hotspur as having an interest in the 22-year-old.

The piece is speculative and there aren’t any real claims being made to justify our apparent interest as more than anything, it seems to largely hinge on the fact that with his star in the Belgian game rising it’s expected that he’s looking to make the next step for his international ambitions with the upcoming 2020 European Championships on the horizon.

Add into the mix that former Southampton manager Ronald Koeman was the man who gave him his Dutch debut and you have a clear line to St Mary’s Stadium, but, he does now fit the profile that our Austrian gaffer is looking for.
