Fans took to social media to give their views on Southampton’s 26-man squad for this week’s training camp in Austria.
Saints released the list on their official website whilst also stating the club will take part in a week of intensive training before finishing the trip with a friendly against Austrian Bundesliga side SCR Altach on Sunday.
The announcement was to inform the supporters which players are involved, but it was a few of the names missing from the list that had the Saints fans reacting.
Charlie Austin and Mario Lemina were two big omissions that the supporters were quick to point out.
Both players have been linked with moves away from St Mary’s. Last month Austin was linked to four clubs, according to The Sun, whilst the same outlet revealed Lemina is willing to move on and is seeking a new club.
Some Saints fans believe the two players have been left at home so they can be free to pursue their transfers away from the club, however, they are split on whether letting Lemina go is a good idea.
A few took to Twitter to share their reactions…
