Earlier this afternoon Southampton confirmed that fullback Sam McQueen had made the loan move out to Championship side Middlesbrough.

The 23-year-old remains with the Riverside Stadium outfit – subject to a standard January break clause – for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign as Boro look to go one better on 2017/18 where they lost out on promotion in the Play-Off Semi-Finals stage.
Under Tony Pulis so far this season, they are unbeaten and have picked up four wins and one draw from five league matches and they have put themselves in the EFL Cup third round hate.
Versatile McQueen has made 29 first team appearances for Saints since making his debut back in 2014 and he is eligible to potentially debut for them on Friday evening as they go into a top of the table clash with Leeds United – Boro are level on points but trail on goal difference only.
Who’s good. Plays on the left, pacy, skilful. Will be a good signing.

Unlike the reactions surrounding the news of Harrison Reed’s departure to Blackburn Rovers, this move has been almost roundly supported by fans as the above selection of social media tweets suggest.
It should be a good spell for the lad and more regular game time, so let’s hope he makes the most of it.
