Southampton’s women side played in front of a club-record attendance of 832 supporters in their second-round Hampshire Cup tie against fellow south coast side Bournemouth, with the Saints being the overwhelming winners during the contest as they claimed a big 7-1 win over the Cherries.

It was a momentous day for Southampton’s women side and for women’s football as a whole this weekend in England as on the same day in the English capital Tottenham hosted Arsenal in the WSL in front of a league-record 38,262 crowd as the Gunners managed a 2-0 win over their north London rivals.
