Plenty of Southampton fans have voiced their approval as the club extended Kyle Walker-Peters’ loan until the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
The 23-year-old’s deal was due to expire at the end of June and could have returned to Tottenham Hotspur. However, the Saints announced on their official Twitter account that his time at St Mary’s will continue until the current season elapses.
Fans have not been impressed with Yan Valery’s performances this season, which has seen Ralph Hasenhuttl bring in Walker-Peters on a short-term basis.
So go on then... who should start against vs Arsenal?
Yan Valery
Kyle Walker-Peters
We haven’t seen much of the Spurs loanee. Walker-Peters has made just two appearances in the red and white and accumulated a total of 73 minutes (as per TransferMarkt), with not enough time for Hasenhuttl to make a tactical judgment on his influence.
With this in mind, supporters were delighted that Walker-Peters’ stay has been extended and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan simply stated “Valery out” after not being impressed with some of his outings, while another cried out to get the Tottenham man in permanently.
Start him instead of Valery.
