Many Southampton fans were excited to discover that their side were favourites to sign the Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu, according to reports.
This is the word from AS, who reported that his future in Spain is “unclear” after his agent cancelled negotiations with the Ligue 1 side Rennes, meaning that the Saints moved to the front of the queue for his signature.
The report adds that an agreement was reached between the two clubs but Salisu’s agent, whose name happens to be Juan Mata, wants his client to focus on a move to the Premier League.
Would you bring Mohamed Salisu to Southampton?

The Ghana international has been an internal part of Valladolid’s campaign, having scored just once and providing one assist from 27 starts, averaging 1.4 tackles and winning 2.5 aerial battles, as per Whoscored.
With this in mind, supporters salivated over the thought of Salisu making the move to the South Coast and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that this would be a “good coop” for the club, while another simply stated, “what a signing this would be”.
