The Saints swept aside Bournemouth 7-1 in a thrilling victory over the Cherries which sees Southampton progress to the next round of the Hampshire Cup in a weekend that saw the highest attendance for a WSL game take part in England as Arsenal took on Tottenham in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Will you be paying more attention to Southampton's women's team?
Yes
No
And the result impressed plenty of the supporters of the men’s senior team, with fans taking to social media to praise the women’s side in what was an incredible fixture for the club that will seemingly inspire Saints followers to pay more attention to the female squad this season.
Here’s what Southampton fans had to say about the women’s side incredible 7-1 win against Bournemouth…
Well all you can say is…….fantastic girls. About time st marrys got the girls in. Playing like this they deserve a game or two at st Mary’s. Also we can say we have seen saints win at home. Well done girls .we will one day see you play at st Mary’s.

With Southampton’s men side taking on Arsenal on the weekend, it is likely that there will be more fans than usual at the women’s fixture instead of travelling to north London.
