It’s been reported this morning that Charlie Austin has reopened talks with West Bromwich Albion over a potential move away from Southampton ahead of the deadline window slamming shut at 5pm.

Report Claims Four Clubs Are Chasing Out Of Favour Southampton Striker – Could Be Worth £8m To Us

Earlier in the window, West Brom were heavily linked with an £8million move for him but 30-year-old Austin pulled the plug on the deal himself as despite knowing he had no future at St Mary’s Stadium given manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s prior words, he didn’t want to drop a division. The Express and Star now claim that has changed, but more importantly that he is now in the Midlands for talks with the club on his personal terms and to undergo a medical.

With how the relationship has soured with the fans with his online Tweeting activity and ‘Frozen’ jokes, along with various other things, I imagine plenty will be sitting there crossing everything that this deal now goes through ahead of the deadline, just so we can draw a line under things.
