Southampton have confirmed that young goalkeeper Jack Bycroft signed his first professional deal in the game yesterday.

The young lad only turned 17-years-old last week and he’s now celebrated that by putting pen to paper on a three year deal with the club, keeping him at the Staplewood training Complex until June 2021.

The length of the deal I would suggest indicates how highly rated he is by our Academy coaches and how impressed they have been with his development in our Under age ranks over the last few years.

He has been an ever-present for Paul Hardyman’s side in 2018/19 so far and he made his Under 18 bow back at the age of 16 such was his talent, so he could well become a name we get very familiar with in the next five years and I’m sure he’ll keep working hard and (as much as you can as a goalkeeper) keep his feet firmly on the ground to reach the potential others see in him.
