New Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl was, as expected, in the Wembley Stadium stands for last night’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs won the match pretty comfortably really, taking a 3-1 victory and Southampton’s consolation didn’t come until the third minute of stoppage-time where Charlie Austin was rewarded for his efforts. With that said, there were a number of positives that could be taken as we did have more chances overall when compared to the hosts, but typically we couldn’t convert them and even Mauricio Pochettino admitted the game could’ve gone differently.

Whoscored had our goalscorer in third place in their rankings and Man of the Match for them went to Steven Davis, who was maybe sending a message of his own to our former manager given his lack of game time.

James Ward-Prowse came second with 7.14 (same score as substitute Austin) and they had Cedric Soares and Mohamed Elyounoussi complete the top five on the day with 6.56 and 6.55 respectively.

Some will say the players gave Kelvin Davis a reaction and we have to hope the new gaffer gets a better one in the near future.
