On loan Saints keeper Fraser Forster produced an incredible performance for Celtic yesterday as they beat Rangers 1-0 to win the Scottish League Cup. The English goalkeeper produced a number of outstanding saves to protect a clean sheet for his side and to help them lift the trophy.
Forster moved back to Celtic on a season-long loan during the summer transfer window after he found himself out of favour at Southampton as he played just once since December 2017.
The move seems to have benefitted Foster and the goalkeeper’s heroics yesterday caught the eye of Saints fans who seemed pleased at their keepers return to form.
So pleased to see him doing well again.

Always a brilliant shot stopper, but rarely came off his line. Great to see him thriving again though.

These fans have asked the question about Forster returning to St Mary’s due to his upturn in form and have questioned whether he is better than current keepers Alex McCarthy and Angus Gunn.
No get him back. Now he is having a run of games and has his confidence back he is providing he is better then Gunn and McCarthy and it’s not just up there he been doing it in Europe as well.

He was so poor for Saints for a long while, hope he returns, but not sure judging on a couple of games is analysis. He needed a change of scene and I think all saints fans are really pleased for him

Fraser Forster needs calling back by Southampton. Immediately.

There is a sense of joy among Saints fans for Forster, who endured a couple of difficult seasons at Southampton. But his excellent return to form for Celtic probably won’t see him return to St Mary’s for the remainder of his season-long loan.
