The former Liverpool striker scored in his fifth consecutive game for Southampton in the Premier League, bringing his season tally up to 11 for the season in all competitions as stats from Transfermarkt show as Ings continues his purple patch for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.
Will Southampton claim Premier League survival?
Yes
No
Ings’ form in recent weeks has been nothing short of spectacular, but it hasn’t been enough to keep Southampton out of the relegation zone for good as this weekend saw the Saints drop back into the bottom three as results around the division went against the Saints.
And Southampton fans on social media were sympathetic for Ings given all the hard work the striker has been doing in recent weeks for the side. Here’s what some Saints fans had to say on Twitter about the attacker’s form…
Feel for the lad! Doing his bit upfront and the back line let him done

Ings’ tally of nine goals in the Premier League takes the Southampton star up to the same amount of strikes as the likes of Harry Kane, Sergio Agero and Sadio Mane as the Premier League’s official website shows.
