Many Southampton fans were delighted to discover reports that Fraser Forster could return to St Mary’s this summer.
According to The Telegraph, manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is set to dash Celtic’s hop of signing the English shot-stopper on a permanent basis as he plans to give him the opportunity of resurrecting his career with the Saints.
The report adds that Forster is wanted back in Glasgow but will be given the opportunity to compete for position alongside Alex McCarthy and Angus Gunn.

Forster has been a key part of Celtic’s title-winning campaign this season and kept 14 clean sheets from 28 Scottish Premiership appearances, as per TransferMarkt.
With this in mind, supporters were delighted to see Forster possibly returning to the South Coast and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan described him as “phenomenal”, while others said they were “happy to see this” and that he “deserves it”.
He is a brilliant keeper who clearly lost confidence for us. That confidence has now come back and he can potentially be a brilliant keeper for us again. Good decision.
