Lots of Southampton fans have been sending former Saints’ midfielder Maya Yoshida after he officially declared that he left the club on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old’s contract came to an end and joined the Serie A side Sampdoria until the end of the season, and posted an emotional farewell to the St Mary’s faithful on his official Twitter account.

In all competitions, Yoshida has only played 11 games this season and has seen very little action in the famous red and white shirt, with Hasenhuttl preferring the likes of Jan Bednarek and Jannik Vestergaard over him in defence.
