Many Southampton fans have rubbished reports that the club are looking to bringing in the Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder Anderson Talisca.
According to VVDM (via The Saint Centre), Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have enquired about the services of the Brazilian who currently plays in the Chinese Super League but carries plenty of experience in Europe.
Talisca used to play for Benfica and Besiktas and has racked up over 10,000 minutes with the two teams, finding the net 57 times, as per TransferMarkt.
Should Southampton sign Anderson Talisca?
Yes
No
During his time in China, Talisca has scored 32 goals and provided 11 assists in 45 appearances. A solid record by any means. However, his wages are believed to be in the region of €180,000-per-week (£162,000-per-week), which could be a stretch for the Saints’ purse as Danny Ings is the highest-paid player on £75,000-per-week, via Spotrac.
Because of this, supporters were not convinced that the club would go for Talisca and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that it is “not happening”, while another believes that there is no way that he comes to St Mary’s.

Not happening. What’s your source for this transfer. I always ask you but you never respond. You making it up?

Martin Siemens told me that Southampton will not sign a player over 23 years old as Ralph wants young players with pace and power so would question the source.
