Hasenhuttl – Southampton “Must Be Clear” On Our Plans For The Summer

|

With Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl achieving his aim of avoiding relegation in the 2018/19 campaign, we are already seeing plenty of transfer links with fans expecting and hoping for a busy summer as we rebuild for the future and look to get back on an upward curve under the impressive Austrian.

Speaking to Sky Sports this week with the curtain now closed on the year, Hasenhuttl’s full attentions now turn to the transfer market and identifying those players that can have a significant impact on the quality of our squad – and then the game is getting them over the line.

“We need to have more quality next season. It will be a difficult summer, I think, because we have our limits with transfer fees, things like that. But we must be clear that we have to make a few new players in the team. We have to sign a few new players and work with them in the same way we work with our players now and try to create a new spirit.”

Given the transfer links we’ve seen so far, fans will naturally have their own favourites when it comes to strengthening and those they wouldn’t want us to touch with someone else’s bargepole, but it certainly seems that Hasenhuttl is focusing on a younger group now that he can work with and develop and improve, and that’s how we’ve been successful before.

We just have to hope his signings work out better than some of our previous managers.
