Plenty of Southampton fans believe that it is time that right-back Yan Valery leaves the club in the summer.
EFL Hub previously reported that the 21-year-old was linked with a loan move to the Championship side Reading for the duration of next season, and are open to providing him with more first-team football.
The young Frenchman has come under intense scrutiny in moments during the current campaign from the St Mary’s faithful and it is easy to see why.
Should Yan Valery be moved on in the summer?
Yes
No
During the current campaign, Whoscored recorded that he has averaged a match rating of 6.38 from 11 Premier League appearances, as well as just 1.8 tackles and a pass success rate of 56.3%, which is low in comparison to other fullbacks in the league.
With this in mind, supporters believed that his exit would benefit both parties and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he would “never make it”, while another insisted that “he should go”.
Get rid. Lapses in concentration that normally lead to goals. More of a winger in my opinion. Never make it as a RB. Walker-peters is twice the player

He should go, give him a season to prove his worth and made a decision after that. The more experience he can get the better, he won’t be costing us games and he’ll be learning not to make stupid mistakes at another club.

Think for the lad it’s a good idea sure this year has taken its toll on him fresh start then see what happens

Yeah a loan would be perfect but to a better team I think. A team pushing for the top 10 places in the championship I’d say. No point him going to play for a club that will expose him with lack of quality around him. An attacking pressing team would be ideal.

Yeah he’s been defending poorly but I think that’s due to a lack of confidence and positional awareness as he’s young. Needs to go somewhere where he’s gonna start a lot of games and I think you’re already sorted there by the sounds of it
