These Southampton fans showered winger Sofiane Boufal with praise as they looked back on a piece of skill that Sofiane Boufal pulled off earlier in the season.
The game concerned was during our 2-1 victory over Watford at St Mary’s during the first half of the campaign. We managed to claw back a 1-0 deficit to win the match inside the final 15 minutes.
Ismaila Saww gave the Hornets the lead in the first half but Danny Ings and James Ward-Prowse responded with a stunning free-kick to ensure that the Saints secured all three points.
Could Sofiane Boufal be doing more this season?
Yes
No
The club’s official Twitter account showcased what Boufal managed to do during the game, as he superbly nutmegged Watford’s Kiko Femenia not once, but twice.
The Moroccan forward has not had the best of campaigns, with just two assists and no goals from 19 Premier League games. He hasn’t scored for us in the top flight since our 5-2 defeat against Tottenham in 2017.
Unsurprisingly, supporters were in awe of Boufal’s skill and made their feelings clear on social media. Many superlatives were used to describe his wizardry. The picks of the bunch were “outrageous”, “magic” and “trademark”.
