The Mirror report via HITC that the south coast club rejected a £25m bid for the Danish defender from Leicester City, with the Foxes on the hunt for defensive reinforcements this January.
Will Southampton have a busy Deadline Day?
Yes
No
Vestergaard has hardly featured for Southampton since the club’s infamous 9-0 defeat to Brendan Rodgers’ side back in October as stats from Transfermarkt show, with the Danish defender only making three appearances since the damming loss, and lots of Saints fans on social media were fuming why the bid from Leicester was rejected.
Here’s what plenty of Southampton supporters had to say on Twitter about Southampton turning down a £25m bid for Vestergaard…
Surely we haven’t rejected 25m… if we sell him and have 25m for a back up CB I’ll be buzzing
