Plenty of Southampton fans have been reacting to the news that the club expanded its partnership with the North American side Hartford Athletic.
The club released a statement that affirmed we will commit to supporting the USL Championship side’s Youth Soccer Platform, which will see our thriving Global Programme blended with the US team, with clinics and camps being partnered in both the UK and the USA.
This could provide us with avenues to spot for talent to play in the first-team in the future. With the transfer market losing its value with the suspension of football, it could prove to be a wise move from the Saints.

Southampton’s link-up with Hartford began last year, with Radhi Jaidi being appointed as the team’s head coach and the young winger Tyreke Johnson moving to the Connecticut-based outfit on loan.
Because of this, supporters were delighted with the club’s actions and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan described the news as “fantastic”, while another applauded our “smart” move with building relationships with other clubs.
