Southampton midfielder and Northern Ireland international Steven Davis has been regularly linked with a move away from the club come the opening of the January transfer window and a prime and popular destination for the soon to be 34-year-old come the New Year is former club Rangers.
There’s been plenty of coverage in the press about this and even I’ve covered it feels like once a month since August as he continues to struggle for game time under manager Mark Hughes, but Rangers fans, in particular, are driving the reacquaintance as he remains a firm fan favourite with them.
With the November international break in full flow, Davis was back in his country’s shirt on Sunday afternoon and even though they lost 2-1 to Austria in their Nations League game, Davis was impressive in the middle of the park once again and plenty of Gers fans took to social media to laud his performance and call for a return once more.
