“I Doubt We’ll Even Attempt To Get Him” - These Southampton Fans Want 22 y/o Star In January

Southampton have long found themselves linked with a potential move for Hull City talent Jarrod Bowen.

The 22-year-old has been a feature on the rumour mill for at least the last two transfer windows, and given his performances and goal return at the KCOM Stadium, in some ways it’s a surprise that no Premier League clubs have yet gambled on him.

With it being reported previously that manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has potentially shortlisted him as a target (and he ticks the boxes that our gaffer spoke about over the summer), we can certainly expect more rumour mill speculation as the January window nears, but with 12 goals in 18 games so far in the 2019/20 campaign, we’d have to be looking at around £25million as a fee and the debate has always been, would we go that high on a single player.

A number of fans on social media are certainly hoping so, especially after watching him grab another two goals on Sunday afternoon as Hull took a point from Middlesbrough.

I think Bowen could come in and take Redmond's place for me – but we probably need to focus defensively first, but you never know, if we get the likes of Moi, Hoedt and Forster off the books next summer we could bring him in

Bowen is far better than Che and he had plenty of opportunities that he missed when he was being picked over Ings at the start of the season.
