“We Have To Sort That” – Hasenhuttl On Huddersfield Draw

|

It’s very much a case of job done for Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl with us already knowing our top flight status for next season is secured, so there was no pressure on today’s final Premier League clash of the campaign against Huddersfield Town at St Mary’s Stadium.

Hasenhuttl continues to plan for next season with a few more changes made once again and a few younger faces on the substitutes bench for today’s game and we all know it’ll be a big summer for the Austrian as we look to get back on track.

In a game of few real chances, Saints did take the lead as Nathan Redmond added another to his tally four minutes before the halftime restart, but Huddersfield capitalised on a mistake from Angus Gunn to draw level ten minutes after the break and that was where the scoring on the day ended.

We close the year out with a point.

Speaking to the BBC following the curtain closer, Hasenhuttl said of the game.

“We had the chances to kill the game but the problem with clean sheets has been a picture of the season. We must stop these mistakes and today it was Angus Gunn. We want to play out but decision making and good anticipation is important. At that moment we cannot dribble out like Angus did and it’s been unbelievable this year that when we make a mistake it’s a goal. We have to sort that next season. We know we have a lot of things to do in the summer and we will, with this squad and new players also. We need to bring a few guys in and then we have to work hard with them.”
